Hello

My name's Amanda and I've been teaching yoga and meditation on the North Shore of Lake Travis since 2015. I love to travel and spend time out in nature, exploring, and being on the water. When I'm not teaching yoga or immersed in the study of Ayurveda, I can usually be found working on our little slice of the American dream. I'm a native New Mexican, but found my way to Austin in the late 90's. My husband and I moved out to the North Shore to raise our two kids in 2007, where I opened a sweet little studio, Soul Society Yoga. After having to close our doors during the pandemic, I am thrilled to be bringing yoga back to Lake Travis with the opening of RITUAL North Shore, a yoga and holistic wellness center located in Jonestown. I hope you'll join me for a class on the land or on the lake!

My Yoga Story

I began dabbling in yoga when I moved to Austin in the 90's, when classes were few and far between. As fate would have it, I tagged along with my mom to my very first yoga class out in Lago Vista. Who knew that decades later, I'd be teaching yoga in that same sleepy, little town?!

Prior to teaching yoga, I worked as a fitness instructor and would try to incorporate as much yoga knowledge as I could get my hands on, into my classes. I was drawn to the practice, even before I really "got" what it was all about. I know that everything from my past has led me to where I am today and shows up in my classes. Music, literature, and Mother Nature are what inspire me most and I love to incorporate these things into my classes. I feel most at home outdoors and love bringing the practice of yoga out into nature whenever possible.

Some of my formal studies include Hatha Yoga, Buddhist Meditation, Kundalini Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Plant Medicine, Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga, and I am currently studying to become a certified Ayurveda Practitioner. I have accrued countless hours in continuing education and will never stop being a student of this life-changing practice.

I am forever humbled and grateful for this opportunity to share the practice that has changed my own life in so many ways. It's an honor to be on this journey with you!
